I'm going camping!

Sorry gang, but I'll be in rustic cabin, and where I'm going there is no internet service. I'll see if posting is a possibility, but I won't try too hard.
I will be home Tuesday, and start posting again that evening. I'm not sure I'll get Matt 7 in before I leave.
Keep reading! I will. And keep posting comments! Don't stop talking just because I'm not around - continue the discussion of the next few chapters here under this posts comments section.

  1. Matthew 7 is jam packed with some of my most favorite verses in the bible. So many things to keep ourselves in check as we walk with Christ:
    1. "Judge not, that you be not judged" My favorite and also one that I really struggle with. It goes with the saying that when you point a finger at someone else there are three fingers pointing back at you. So true. None of us are perfect! we are here to love.
    2. "ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find..." Our Father wants to provide for us just as we would want to provide for our children when they ask for something. Jusk ask! That is key.
    3. "Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many." My mother in law has the painting that corresponds to this verse and she has even explained it to my son, Hudson. Now he always asks the Lord to help him be a missionary and save people from jumping in the fire. So precious. We can all learn from that.
    4. "thus you will recognize them by their fruits." If we are spiritually healthy then we will radiate the fruits of the spirit. A good test for us to see if we are actually doing what we are supposed to!
    5. "I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness." Just proves that we are not saved by our good works but that Jesus wants that personal relationship with us!!!

    Love this chapter...

  2. If I would have thought to keep the logs that I pulled out of my eyes over the years I could have built a fine log cabin. So many are quick to let the mouth react before taking situations and thoughts to our Lord Jesus that we speak blindly because of the log in our eyes. Less reaction and more time with Jesus has reduced my eyes to a few splinters now and than. All for the love of Jesus!

  3. I am claiming the promise at the end of chapter 7 that no storm can cause me to fall. Of course I recognize I have to meet 2 conditions: 1- Hear these words of Jesus, and 2- Put them into practice. I have heard the words of the sermon on the mount, now comes the more difficult part.
