You Guys are Awesome!

I asked for dreams, and boy oh boy did I get dreams.

I broke down ministry to five areas (certainly not scientific): Worship, Missions, Evangelism, Discipleship, and Fellowship (Nuture). After a bit of study, I noticed that McKendree is by far a mission minded church. The biggest weakness seemed to be evangelism. A group of 9 of us discussed this, then started calling out our dreams. After an hour and a half, this is some of our dreaming.

Bible studies are needed; long term, short term, leadership training, breakfast groups, mom's groups, women and men groups, and even adult Sunday school.

Visitation is a goal. Visitation groups are again being discussed.

Extended children's ministry

Youth ministry

Teen clown ministry

A revitalized resource library

An expanded and renewed discretionary fund to help out in the community

Injecting new ideas in worship on Sunday Morning

New/renewed fellowship: Coffe House nights, church dinners, and movie nights

Recognition of service men and women

I'm sure I missed something, but I will certainly expound on the brief list I have mentioned here. The point is, people came Monday night, and others emailed me or called, and told me dreams. We have dreams as a church, but all too often we don't know where to go, or if we do go to someone, we don't get the help we need.

My job is to empower the people of this church for ministry. You pay me to do it! Keep me accountable! I want us to be an exciting congregation of Christ's followers!

Your job is to dream and then step out in faith to exciting ministry.

Together we are going to do awesome things!
